Steel Buildings for Indoor Horse Arenas

Interior of an empty warehouse or industrial building with large windows, metal beams, and a dirt floor, overlooking a scenic view of trees and grass.

In the U.S., over 2 million people own horses, so it’s no wonder that the number of indoor horse arenas is on the rise.

The sheer size of these indoor riding arenas makes pre-engineered steel buildings the logical building option. Discover why metal indoor riding arena kits from RHINO will suit your needs.

BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK

Horses represent a large investment of time and money. Protecting these investments means sheltering these animals in the best facilities possible, both for the horses and the owners who love them.

RHINO prefabricated steel buildings create the best metal barns, shelters, stables, and steel indoor riding arenas.

Here are a few of the many reasons horse owners choose RHINO indoor horse arena kits:

  • Covered riding arenas demand large, unobstructed space. No other building system can span farther than RHINO’s pre-engineered steel buildings.

  • The steel’s durability makes prefab metal buildings far easier to maintain than wood structures.

  • The pre-cut steel components allow the buildings to erect quickly and easily, with minimal equipment.

  • Since steel is not organic like the wood used for pole buildings, it won’t add fuel to a fire, nor attract termites and mold.

  • You can add natural lighting to indoor horse arenas, barns, and other structures with optional skylights or wall lights available from RHINO.

Furthermore, expanding RHINO metal buildings as your business grows is simple. You can just order additional steel framing bays to add to the end walls of your existing structure.  That makes enlarging RHINO barns, hay sheds, stables, and covered or enclosed horseback riding arenas easy and economical.

RHINO COVERED OR INDOOR HORSE ARENAS

Nothing is more relaxing than riding your horse on a clear, beautiful day. Unfortunately, the weather does not always cooperate. Steel indoor riding arenas are a great option for horseback riding indoors —particularly in areas with extreme weather conditions.

Many riders opt for completely enclosed and climate-controlled steel indoor horse arenas that allow for year-round teaching and training. This keeps equestrian businesses from losing revenue on bad weather days. In addition, well-lit indoor riding arenas also provide a safe place for evening riding lessons and training sessions.

Covered horse arenas, which are open-air structures similar to a pavilion, are a great option for milder climates. Covered riding arenas protect both riders and horses on days of inclement weather or extreme heat.

RHINO’s sales for horseback riding arenas have grown steadily in recent years. In fact, all farm, ranch, and equestrian construction is on the rise.  Our customers find that RHINO is the perfect source for barns, stables, hay sheds, and other rural structures.

In addition, the same RHINO steel structures used for outdoor and indoor equestrian arena buildings also work well for covered pavilions and outdoor event centers.

Use Cases

  • Person in medieval knight armor riding a white horse on a grassy field.

    Medieval Times Training Facility

In 2008, Chapel Creek Ranch in Sanger, Texas had a RHINO prefab steel structure built.

The ranch breeds and trains magnificent Spanish Andalusian horses used in the pageantry and jousting performances at the Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament “castles.”

Chapel Creek Ranch’s 100’ x 150’ x 16’ roomy covered arena allows training to continue, regardless of the weather.

  • A woman crouching beside a horse, wrapping a blue bandage around the horse's leg, outdoors in a fenced area.

    Equestrian Veterinarian Facility

In Wise County, Texas, Outlaw Equine built a fabulous new facility with RHINO structures. Using two connecting RHINO prefab steel buildings, this premiere equestrian veterinary service includes offices, stables, and even a swimming pool for horses. The buildings measure 100’ x 70’ x 21’ and 100’ x 230’ x 15’.

Later the facility expanded even more, adding an open-air 90’ x 100’ x 14’ structure as an exercise facility for horses.
